Introducing the Ruffle Crush Quilt Pattern

Hi friends! I hope your Monday is going well so far. I have been out to run errands and my girl is having a rare nap so I'm enjoying a little bit of time to myself this afternoon.

I decided I'm finally ready to share something I've been working on for a while. I have been working on my first quilt pattern--for this quilt:
Ruffle Crush Quilt
The pattern will be available soon, in two sizes--baby quilt (about 40" x 50") and throw (about 50" x 70"). This is the baby quilt size and it's made up in Kumari Garden fabric with charm squares from my stash and Moda grunge for the ruffle strips.

Here's a close-up:

The pattern will be available as a .pdf file--it has lots of photos and includes detailed instructions on cutting long straight strips of fabric, matching large scale fabric prints, and sewing gathers.

Here's what it looks like in the larger size:
Ruffle Crush Quilt--Throw Size
I used Blush fabrics from Basic Grey for this one.

So here's the deal--the pattern is almost ready, but I'd like 2 or 3 quilters to proofread it for me. And if anyone wants to test the pattern and can make up a quilt top quickly that would be great, too! (I have had one friend test it so far.) Please contact me via email or leave a comment here if you're interested in proofreading or testing this pattern for me. Tell me about your quilting/sewing skill level too; I'd like to get a beginner's take on it as well as input from a more experienced quilter. I'll give a free copy of the final pattern to my proofreaders and testers.
(edited--I have enough testers now, thank you!)

I want to test it out!!! It's so stinking cute! I'd say I'm a beginner, I've made only 2 baby quilts, a full size, and am in the midst (stupidly!) Of making a king size quilt!
I would really, really love to test it out!

soooo cute! Too bad isaac is a boy! I would say Becca could test it out as a beginner if you wanted, but not sure how soon it would get done :)

Oh, I LOVE those ruffles! What a darling idea! Are you going to be selling the pattern?

I love the gathered strips. Makes the piece very different and a bit special.

I'd love to proofread this pattern and make it too! I have made several smallish quilts, but not with "traditional" techniques

What a cute quilt! I would love the opportunity to proofread the pattern for you. I'm a Language Arts teacher 6-12, so I'm accustomed to proofreading/editing/revising work. I consider myself an advanced-beginner piecer, as I have made about eight quilt tops so far. I'm very comfortable following patterns and tutorials. Either way, congrats on being on the road to publishing a pattern!

Super cute! I'd test or proof read. I'm a somewhat beginner...Made my first pieced quilt about 9 months ago. Since then have made 5.

That looks wonderful! I have never even considered the idea of gathered strips in a quilt.
I have sewn several quilts but am enjoying more modern quilts now and this looks to be a perfectly cute modern quilt! I have a two year old who is watching me on the computer and she has gone crazy for your butterfly prints on here.

Hope I can help!

I used ruching with taffeta for a quilt. It turned out so lovely! I will definitely try this technique again.

Vicki, very cute pattern! I'd be happy to proof or test it out. I'm not an expert but have quite a bit of experience sewing and quilting.

Absolutely adorable! Are the ruffles very difficult? I have my first nephew on the way and am wanting to make a quilt for him, which is how I found your site last week in the first place. I have never made a quilt before and was going to follow a tutorial you previously posted.. however, this one is so darn cute too! I too, would be intersted in sharing opinions on your pattern. Since I have not done one before, but think I understand the concept pretty well, I might have input on how easy it is to understand the pattern... maybe.
Otherwise, I will wait and watch for your pattern to be up for sale and will have to try it on my next go around with quilt making.
