projects

I finished up some underwear for my boys the other day. I really like the football fabric, as underwear at least. The gray and olive fabrics are recycled t-shirts. I might make spring jammies for my younger son with the football fabric.

And, I started work on my watercolor quilt again. It's going pretty well! I'm not sure if I have enough of the medium-light fabrics to finish. I better figure that out so I can send out requests for fabric if I need to. I will be working on this more today.

Cute undies. Do you ever make panties?

Hi Vicki! What a fun surprise to see a comment from you on my blog!

Your blog is amazing...I've loved looking through your projects! I've made one dress for Bria and some home decor stuff and that's it! Oh, and a quilt once. You inspire me! :)

What a BRILLIANT idea! I always HATE how much underwear cost... especially for my boys who grow so fast! Also, I have a pile of old t-shirts (waiting to make into a rag rug) but this would work for some of them to. In addition, I have a serger... so just one thing I need to know... do you have a pattern you can recommend or do you just make your own? Any other pointers for someone new to sewing boys boxer briefs?

Suzy--the underwear pattern is from Ottobre Design issue 4/2004. You can probably buy a back issue on ottobredesign.com. I changed it a little (lengthened legs, omitted leg binding) and they are pretty easy to make.
