Chicken Quilt

A little while back I got an email from Cindy, who's a member of a yahoo group about chickens. She was asking about my chicken quilt block tutorial and the chicks I used in my quilt for DQS8 way back when. Turns out that another member of her group, Karen, made a chicken quilt using my chicken block! I think it is super cute and got Karen's permission to post the pictures on my blog:
I really like that egg fabric in the border. And the colorful chickens.

She sent close-ups of a couple of the chickens:

Karen says "the green one is molting." Too funny! I love the stitched legs and beady eyes, too.

If you want to make a project with this quilt block you can find the tutorial here. The chicks that I made for this quilt are made from a pattern in the book "A Quilter's Ark." Do you have chickens? How do you like them? Maybe one day (when we get into our own house again) we will try having chickens. Or maybe I'll just make my own chicken quilt.
